Tom Baxter Hair raises £2,500 for NHS
Tom Baxter Hair in Newcastle-upon-Tyne has donated £2,500 to support the NHS after reopening following the COVID-19 lockdown period.
Salon owner, Tom and his colleague Dan Harrison, reopened the salon on Saturday 4th July at 12.01am, and the money raised from haircuts and beard trims from the point that the doors opened until 6.00am that same morning has been donated to Newcastle's Royal Victory Infirmary.
First in the barber's chair was Geordie Shore's Aaron Chalmers, who had been growing his hair out throughout lockdown in support of Tom and
The International Hair Alliance, a social media group supporting hairdressers and barbers during lockdown.
Tom and his team continued to cut hair until midnight Saturday, having opened the salon for 24 hours. Commenting,
Tom Baxter says:
“Thank you to every single loyal customer that has stuck by us during lockdown. We know it has been hard for some, but we are excited to be back and making people feel good. The NHS have done an amazing job at protecting us against virus, this is our way of giving a little bit something back, giving up our time is the most precious thing you can give back."
As well as operating his own salon, Tom Baxter is also an
OSMO Ambassador.
