Whilst there is still uncertainty about when Covid-19 lockdown restrictions will be relieved and salons and spas can reopen, there's no harm in getting prepared for when that day comes. With this in mind, skincare experts Dermalogica have launched new measures to help salon owners and professional skin therapists reopen their businesses in line with government guidance. 

Dermalogica's Global Service Safety Standards and Certification Programme has been developed in accordance with the brand's existing professional-grade standards, and with the safety of salon staff and clients as top priority.

In addition to a set of directives such as hand sanitising, staggering appointments and limiting entrance, and wearing masks in common areas and face shields during treatments, Dermalogica have launched their Clean Touch Certification. This will be awarded to skin therapists who complete free online training on the key principles and enhanced protocols, after which they will earn a certificate to display in their salon, treatment room and on their website, recognising them as Clean Touch Certified.

Commenting on Dermalogica's new global service safety standards, Global CEO, Aurelian Lis, says:

“As science progresses, we will surely need to loosen or tighten the safety precautions. What counts is that we have defined the most appropriate steps now so that the industry can embark on the changes necessary to make facial skincare services a reality. With big business focused on digital or sitting it out, skin therapists are not willing to give up on the important industry of human touch and connection.”

During a live streamed announcement yesterday, Dermalogica also teased their “Back in Touch” global marketing campaign, created to support Dermalogica skin therapists as they start thinking about reopening and reconnecting with their clients. The campaign will launch in select Dermalogica markets in May and continue wider roll-out as local communities suggest that it is safe to do so.
