ABT Accredited Academy named UK's best!
Congratulations to Katy Jobbins and the team at the Permanent Makeup Training Academy, recognised for its performance in training by winning the HBA's Education Excellence Award at the National Hair & Beauty Awards 2024. A number of courses run by the academy have successfully achieved ABT Accreditation.
Katy was the only individual to secure three top 10 finishes, also taking second place in the award for the UK's best Semi-Permanent Makeup Brow Artist, and was placed ninth in the Entrepreneur of the Year category.
The Permanent Makeup Training Academy was amongst 50 finalists in the HBA Education Excellence category, which rewards the best training centre across the entire UK hair and beauty industry. Katy personally trains all students on a one-to-one basis at her West Sussex-based academy.
Commenting on winning the HBA's Education Excellence Award, Katy Jobbins says:
“I saw the top 50 places slowly get named, with the results flashing up on the screen slower and slower until it got to the top 10, then top 5, then 3rd placed training company, runner up… and I thought to myself, well, I've either come nowhere at all or have gone and won the whole thing!”
She adds:
“When I saw that I had won, I wasn't quite sure what to do. When you are amongst thousands of your industry peers and it's you they are all cheering for, it was quite overwhelming. Luckily, I managed to quickly get myself together and walk up onto the stage along with my husband and joint partner in the business, Paul, who also mentors my students on setting up and growing their businesses. It was also lovely to share the moment with so many of my students who were also in attendance and up for multiple awards themselves.”
The National Beauty & Hair Awards 2024 were presented at a ceremony held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, hosted by X Factor and I'm A Celebrity runner up Jake Quickenden.
