First look at SS18 make-up predictions

Powder white, periwinkle blue, copper, yellow and ochre were dominant, creating a pastel abstract collage on the eyes

Lord & Berry, the makeup atelier from Milan, sponsored the makeup for the British Fashion Council and Vogue funded SS18 palmer//harding show at London Fashion Week.

The look, depicting the concept of an empowered female artist, played on a theme of brushstrokes and a paint palette of pastel colours, and was designed and executed by renowned lead makeup artist Attracta Courtney.

Loosely inspired by Robert Rauschenberg's Combine series (1954-64), powder white, periwinkle blue, copper, yellow and ochre were dominant in the eye makeup look, creating a pastel abstract collage. This focal eye was teamed with an extreme healthy glow, glimmering lids and lips bathed in a healthy gloss, depicting a girl who knows her own unique style, and is never afraid to show her true self – this girl knows she has the cool factor and doesn't have to try hard to convey it.

When describing the look, Attracta Courtney commented:

“For SS18, it's all about identifying with your true self – it's less about contrived glamour and more about expressing true individualism. To create this sense of organic female power, I used Lord & Berry products to create an unexpected look – cyber skin, reminiscent of the iridescence of the moon, paired with bright shadows on the lids, smudged out with fingers, and bathed in glimmering gloss. This girl doesn't have to try hard to find her original beauty; her look is unexpected, fearless and unique.”

On replicating the look, Attracta continues:

“My top tip for summer skin is to create a shimmering, ethereal glow. To create the look, I used Lord & Berry Luminizer in ‘ Moon'. Firstly, create a base glow by mixing an application of Luminizer with your daily moisturiser to super charge an enhanced natural glow. Next apply the Lumninizer stick over the bridge of your nose, upper cheekbones and inner corner of your eye to create subtle highlights. To add that extra statement dewiness, I recommend Lord & Berry Lip Oil Potion patted onto cheek bones, the nose, brow bone and across lips and eye lids.”
