Iconic beauty brand returns to professional sector
Urban Retreat is returning to the professional hair and beauty industry with Urban Retreat Suites, a premium concept designed to help independent professionals develop their own businesses.
Launching at One Smithfield in central London, Urban Retreat Suites will provide private spaces for hair, beauty and wellness professionals. Suite holders will be able to shape their services, pricing, environment and client journey while benefiting from the profile and heritage of the Urban Retreat brand.
The venture brings together Urban Retreat founder George Hammer, International Development Director Reena Hammer and hair industry leader and educator John Gillespie. It has been developed in response to the continued growth of self-employment across the sector.
Urban Retreat Suites is built around four principles: Elevate, Create, Control and Belong. Together, these focus on supporting stronger businesses, encouraging individuality, providing greater professional and financial autonomy and creating a connected community.
John Gillespie, CEO of Urban Retreat Suites, says:
“Independence should feel exciting, not isolating. We want to create an environment where talented people can make their own decisions and build their own brands, but still feel part of something with energy, ambition and genuine industry connection. Our promise is simple: work for yourself, never by yourself."
The first Urban Retreat Suites location at 18–19 Long Lane, London EC1A 9PL, is scheduled to open in November.
