Return of beauty & mobile services in Scotland confirmed

The beauty sector in Scotland will reopen from Monday 26th April, it has been confirmed. 

The country will move into Level 3 of the country's Strategic Framework from that date, which means that close contact services including beauty and complementary therapies will be permitted to operate.

Hair salons and barbershops have been open in Scotland since 5th April.

Mobile beauty therapists, nail techs, hairdressers etc working in clients homes may also resume doing so from 26th April.



Scottish salons may open from 26th April

Salons in Scotland may be able to reopen from Monday 26th April, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced today (23rd February).

An updated Strategic Framework indicates that government is aiming for mainland Scotland and areas currently in Level 4 to move to Level 3 from the last week in April, with some possible modifications. Close contact services, including hair, beauty and complementary therapies, and education, are currently permitted to operate under Level 3 restrictions.

A document outlining further information and requirements for businesses to reopen will be published by the Scottish Parliament in mid-March.
