Salon group heads backstage at Glasgow festival
Rainbow Room International (RRI) returned to TRNSMT Festival for its ninth instalment, continuing its role as the official backstage hair team.
Working from a dedicated pop-up salon within the Artists Village at Glasgow Green, stylists supported performers, management and crew across the weekend.
The team was represented by a rotating line-up of directors, art directors and stylists from salons across the group. On Friday, Riccardo Corvi, Heather Brad and Miya Henderson styled artists including The K's, Dylan John Thomas and Beluga Lagoon.
Saturday's team, led by David Nicolson, included Becca Jack, Hannah Bettany and Fabrizio Delvecchio, working with acts such as English Teacher, The Fratellis, The Last Dinner Party and Poppy Baskcomb, as well as members of Amy Macdonald and Sonny Fodera's crews.
Festival hair trends included textured mullets, longer men's styles, disconnected cuts and undercuts, as well as voluminous updos, glossy waves and curls. Schwarzkopf Professional sponsored the weekend, supplying products designed to combat humidity and maintain long-lasting styles, particularly during mixed weather conditions.
Riccardo Corvi, Director of Rainbow Room International's Ayr salon, commented:
“To be asked to return year after year to TRNSMT Festival is fantastic for our Rainbow Room International brand. It's a great opportunity for stylists across our salons to gain experience working backstage at different events and to see what opportunities are available to them within the industry beyond working behind the chair in the salon. It also allows them to connect with a wide range of professionals while demonstrating that we are masters of our craft and the hairdressers to visit when in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.”
