Botanicals & chronobiology inspire new skin brand
A new ‘cosmeceutical meets botanicals' skincare line has launched inspired by the ancient Egyptian sun god Ra and the Māori word for “sun”.
Raaie Skincare's philosophy embraces the sun's benefits whilst protecting against is dangers. Using chronobiology, formulations align with the skin's natural rhythms to shield against sun damage and repair signs of ageing such as wrinkles, uneven texture and hyperpigmentation.
Products are formulated from land, sea and alpine botanicals native to New Zealand, renowned for their hydrating, brightening, smoothing properties.
Katey Mandy, Founder of Raaie Skincare, explains:
“When I came back to New Zealand, I realised we are so fortunate to have access to a treasure trove of unique ingredients - some of which are only just being discovered. New Zealand's botanicals are special because of their resilience - they survive under some of the harshest UV in the world. In response, the plants have developed unique defensive mechanisms by producing very high levels of antioxidants. It's like they have created their own ‘plant sunblock.”
The Raaie collection comprises four daily skincare products: Morning Dew Vitamin C Serum and Sun Milk Drops Tinted to protect the skin, and Yellow Moonbeam Retinal Elixir and Cocoon Ceramide Cream to repair.
