Mandatory face masks in salons to end in England

The mandatory wearing of face coverings in salons and spas and during close contact services in England is set to end next week, the Prime Minister has said.

Boris Johnson made the announcement today (19th January) whilst outlining the move of England from Plan B to Plan A, with the change in rules coming into effect on Thursday 27th January.

He advised that individuals should use their judgement on the wearing of a face covering in enclosed or crowded spaces, but this will be personal choice.

In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, face coverings remain mandatory in public indoor settings including hair and beauty premises.
