MUA supports beauty and hairdressing fundraiser
Stand Together Glam Together 2021, an exclusive online hair and beauty fundraising event, will take place on 5th June raising money for The Coronavirus Appeal for The Red Cross, and Hair & Beauty Charity, which provides support to industry workers that have been unable to work.
The event is being supported by make-up artist Bryony Blake (pictured) and Oscar-Nominated film and TV designer, Marc Pilcher.
The volunteer-led event will livestream hair and beauty tutorials from over 20 respected industry creatives via
Instagram to educate and empower supporters; 100% of all donations will go directly to the nominated charities.
Commenting on this year's
Stand Together Glam Together event, Sam Grocutt, President of
Hair & Beauty Charity, says:
“We are delighted to be involved with Stand Together Glam Together 2021. The COVID crisis has seen us become an essential lifeline to many in our industry – we saw an increase in 148% of requests for financial support last year and awarded an increase of 70% funds to beneficiaries, year on year. Now more than ever, the official industry charity is helping those who need it most.”
Caroline Hudson, fundraiser for
The British Red Cross adds:
“It's a tough time to ask for help. But our Red Cross charity shops have had to shut their doors, and most of our planned fundraising events are on pause or have had to be cancelled. For some, the burden of the pandemic's impact has been building gradually and is now too heavy to manage alone. So that's why we're asking for support for our appeal.”
Last year's Stand Together Glam Together event raised £1,400 to support NHS Charities Together and Scottish Care.
