Lynton launches laser & light treatment qualifications

Aesthetics experts Lynton have launched two new qualifications in laser and light treatments developed as a direct pathway for new practitioners and to deliver essential knowledge for existing operators.

The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies is open to those without traditional beauty qualifications as well as medical professionals entering the aesthetics field. Students will learn skin and body basics, the consultation process, electrical science and health and safety. It features an 80% online learning component, covering foundational theory topics which can be completed over 12 months, with the remaining 20% involving practical assessments at the Lynton Training Academy in Cheshire.

Kirsty Turnbull, Course Leader and Training Academy Manager at Lynton, explains:

"This Level 3 Access course is the first true pathway for individuals without traditional beauty qualifications to enter the aesthetics industry. Backed by Lynton's award-winning training, it's a game-changer for those seeking a reputable and comprehensive start in the field of aesthetics.”

The OFQUAL Level 4 Core of Knowledge qualification covers the fundamentals of laser and light devices, the properties of light, laser classification, risk assessment and the roles of Laser Protection Advisers (LPA) and Supervisors.

This qualification comprises a one-day Core of Knowledge course in association with the University of Manchester plus a half-day tutorial session and an online multiple choice examination. Endorsed by the British Medical Laser Association (BMLA), the course is taught by Professor Mark Dickinson and Dr Samantha Hills, experts in the field of light-based energy devices and laser safety.
