KH Hair Group marks Managing Director's 35 year anniversary
An East Midlands hairdresser is celebrating a 35 year career, after starting as an apprentice of the company where he now acts as Managing Director.
Darren Messias joined KH Hair Group (then named Keith Hall) in 1989 at the age of 16, beginning training at the Keith Hall Academy in Long Eaton and joining the Keith Hall team in St Peters Street, Derby. Following a stint at the salon group's location in St James Street, Derby, in 1996 Darren became co-franchisee alongside Tim Lacey and Amanda Fall of Keith Hall's Leicester salon.
Darren claimed a desk at head office in 2004, joining forces with Tim Lacey and Tim Fee to become co-franchisor of KH Hair Franchising. Since their respective retirements, Darren has headed up the Group which now boasts 21 salons including barbers across the East Midlands.
Creatively, Darren leads the KH Hair Group's Creative and Colour Teams, and in 1994 he was awarded membership of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing's F.A.M.E Team.
In 2016, Darren received a Fellow with Honours Award from the Fellowship and last December, was awarded with a ‘Fellow with Distinction' medal for his work to support the Fellowship and promote UK hairdressing.
Commenting on his 35 year career in the hair sector, Darren Messias says:
“I strongly believe one of the biggest contributing factors to the longevity and success of KH Hair is our genuine sense of family and belonging. This goes right back to the late 1940's and our founder Mr Keith Hall MBE. This ethos is the very foundation that KH Hair is built on and has been carried on passionately throughout the years.
