Industry urged to commit to reducing carbon footprint
Ahead of next month's UN Climate Change Conference, COP26, small businesses, including those in the beauty and hair sectors, are being encouraged to sign up to the SME Climate Hub and take action to reduce our industry's carbon footprint.
A number of industry names are urging business owners to participate including Gina Conway, Tabitha James-Kraan, Anne Veck and Keith Mellen.
SME Climate Hub is a global network of like-minded businesses seeking to improve themselves, their community and the planet. It provides an online resource to help you to measure your business' emissions and offers ways to directly reduce the energy and waste you use daily to help us get to net zero faster and smarter.
The SME Climate Hub is an initiative of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Exponential Roadmap Initiative, the We Mean Business coalition and the United Nations Race to Zero campaign.
A dedicated UK hub is backed by the UK government, encouraging businesses to commit to cutting carbon emissions by half by 2030 and to reach ‘net zero' by 2050.
