Industry charity reveals new name
The official charity of the hair and beauty industry, The Hairdressers' Charity, has rebranded as the Hair and Beauty Charity.
Dating back to 1853 and formerly also known as the Hair & Beauty Benevolent, the charity has always incorporated the wider beauty industry, and now it's new name will expand the charity's visibility in supporting the full spectrum of hair, barbering and beauty industries.
Samantha Grocutt of Essence PR, Co-President of Hair & Beauty Charity, explains:
“This rebrand is a natural progression for us since we became a nationally recognised charity in 2016. We have always supported those in the beauty and barbering industries and now it helps to clarify our focus.”
Relying on support from corporate sponsors, currently including L'Oreal Professionnel, Wella Professionals, Salon Services, ghd, Schwarzkopf, Goldwell, A.S.P, BaByliss PRO and NHF/NBF, the charity fundraises to support individuals working in the beauty, hair and barber sectors who have fallen on hard times, including offering financial support during serious illness.
Co-President of Hair & Beauty Charity, Philip Sharp of A.S.P, says:
“Our mission is to help hair and beauty professionals in need. We offer financial support to individuals and their families facing difficult times due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, bereavement and financial hardship. Our beneficiaries are supported with regular payments or one-off grants to make their lives a little easier.”
