Golfers raise £6,500 for hairdressers' charity

Golfers from the world of hairdressing raised over £6,500 for The Hairdressers' Charity (THC) during their annual Gold Day fundraiser held recently at Dalmahoy Golf Course in Edinburgh.

The event was organised by THC committee member Peter Belcher, with support from main sponsor OSMO in addition to hole sponsors Peter Belcher, Phillip Rogers, Charlie Miller, AJC93, Rainbow Room International, Hairdressers Journal, Hair & Beauty World, UNITE, Alan Howard and Creighton's.

Although this was a charity event, the tournament was of course incredibly competitive with Ed Connick of ghd taking the crown of individual overall winner as well as the accolade for Longest Drive, whilst team ghd were named winning team. Keith Fyvie of OSMO took Nearest the Pin.

Organiser and charity supporter, Peter Belcher, says:

“With the sun shining throughout and bacon sandwiches to start – the golfers knew they were in for a great day ahead.  It was fantastic to see both familiar and new faces taking part this year.

“A huge thank you to our main sponsors OSMO for their support once again, and to our hole sponsors for getting behind the fundraising. It was a successful day and everyone really enjoyed themselves whilst knowing they were helping hairdressers in need.”

After a hard day's golfing, participants enjoyed a three-course meal and raffle which included prizes of an overnight stay at Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club, a round of golf at Dalmahoy, electricals from ghd, and golf shop vouchers from Peter Belcher.
