FreeFrom Skincare Awards reveal 2020 Shortlist
The shortlist has been announced for this year's FreeFrom Skincare Awards, featuring more than 200 products from 120 brands.
A team of over 100 testers judged nominated products in 15 categories, trialling items on their sensitive or problem skin over a month-long period. To qualify, products must be formulated ‘free from' many of the ingredients which some consumers need to or want to avoid.
Commenting on the shortlisting process,
FreeFrom Skincare Awards director, Alex Gazzola, says:
“This has been the year defined by testing under lockdown. The soap bars in particular were put through their paces. It was especially challenging for our testers, some of whom were NHS workers, to adapt and manage their skincare routines, especially those with caring and home-schooling responsibilities.
“The pampering products, such as face masks, bath jellies and even a night cream for feet, were particularly valued, both for their skin benefits, and for their therapeutic ones.”
Shortlisted products will now go forward to panel of judges with an interest in ‘free from' skincare including skincare professionals, allergy experts, cosmetic formulators, brand owners, beauty writers and bloggers.
Winners will be announced online at the end of July or early August.
