Beauty Backed Trust reveals new Grant Programme

The Beauty Backed Trust has launched its first Grant Programme offering £5,000 of funding for those whose businesses and plans of a career in the beauty industry have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founded by Caroline Hirons in 2020, the Beauty Backed fundraising initiative supported independent businesses within the beauty industry directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It raised £600,000 which was donated to the Hair & Beauty Charity.  The initiative has since evolved into a Trust.

Its new Grant Programme offers two types of funding: a Start-up Grant for individuals whose plans to enter or continue a career in the industry were ended because of the COVID-19 pandemic; and a Support Grant for previously established businesses and freelancers that need additional help and guidance to recover and grow. Each grant is limited to a maximum of £5,000 per applicant.

Successful candidates will be provided with a mentoring programme for guidance and support to ensure that the funds are used appropriately.

Commenting on the launch of the Grant Programme, Beauty Backed Trust founder, Caroline Hirons, says:

“Since launching Beauty Backed Trust, we have had over 200 support requests for stock, equipment, financial and mentoring support. As a response to this, the Trustees and I are thrilled to have put in place two grant programmes that will provide support to those most in need. Both programmes will not only provide financial support but access to training and mentoring to help meet the needs of our industry and we cannot wait to get going.”
