Award for world’s first plastic-free glitter
Environmentally-friendly glitter brand, Bioglitter®, has been recognised with one of Asia's most prestigious industry awards.
UK-based glitter manufacturer Ronald Britton claimed top prize in the green and sustainable category at the PHCI Fountain Awards 2019 for its Cosmetic Bioglitter® Pure, the world's first completely plastic-free glitter. The product will be available commercially at the end of this month.
In addition, the firm also won an award for Bioglitter® Sparkle, which is a naturally degradable glitter, used by some of the biggest cosmetic, fashion and retail brands across the world.
Stephen Cotton, Commercial Director of Ronald Britton, says:
“We're absolutely delighted to see both of our glitters recognised in the green and sustainable category.
“Bioglitter® is completely unique in the industry. It is the first glitter which will degrade naturally in the environment and Cosmetic Bioglitter® Pure is the first, 100% plastic free glitter.
“It is great the judges recognised the qualities in both glitters, we are working hard to combat plastic pollution and we have the product that provides a solution to solving the glitter litter issue.”
Cosmetic Bioglitter® Pure is made from natural products including cellulose, and boasts the OK Biodegradable Water Certification from TUV. Being completely plastic free, the product is compliant with microbead legislation worldwide now and in the future. As well as antimony free it's also aluminium free, making it FDA cosmetic compliant for use in lip cosmetics.
