Wax heaters – Why choose HIVE?

HIVE® supply the professional beauty market with competitively priced, high-quality products that enable the newly qualified student or experienced therapists alike to provide effective treatments to clients.

Launched in 1993, waxing innovators HIVE® of Beauty have been at the forefront of the professional beauty industry since the brand's inception. The HIVE® logo has been a symbol of quality for therapists for over three decades, enabling them to “wax with confidence”.

The introduction of HIVE®'s first product, “the Beehive” styled wax heater not only led to the brand name but also specially formulated “honey” waxes and eventually the development of a full range of depilatory products, establishing HIVE ® as the industry's leading authority on depilatory waxing.

Now decades later, HIVE® of Beauty has a worldwide customer base and offers everything required by the modern waxing professional, whether a mobile therapist, small salon, or high-end waxing technician. So, when it came to asking for advice on wax heaters there was only place to go to!

Are wax heaters the only product that HIVE® of Beauty produces?
No, HIVE ® consider themselves to be a complete waxing solution for professionals.

As well as an extensive range of high-quality wax heaters, the range includes warm, crème, hot and paraffin waxes, pre and after wax treatment products and wax accessories.

How has the technology of wax heaters changed over the years?
By far the biggest change to the technology seen since the creation of the first HIVE® wax heater has been the introduction of digital products alongside analogue models.

Digital heaters have provided professionals with more control than ever! Beauty therapists can accurately adjust the temperature of the wax to suit the client by 1°C at a time, with the information clearly shown on a digital display. In addition, features such as fast heating modes, the ability to revert to a programmed temperature and independently controlled heating chambers have positively impacted on working practices.

Can I use any wax heater model?
There are specific heaters that would be required for a particular style of waxing, for example the Multi-Pro Wax heaters for use with roller cartridges or HIVE® Spray Paraffin cartridges. However, for the most part it is more important to have a quality heater that is reliable, that is the foundation of the HIVE® wax heater range.

The vast majority of HIVE® models are also capable of being used with warm, crème & hot depilatory wax as well as paraffin wax.

What is the most popular wax heater?
There is a wide selection of heaters, but this is very much down to demand generated by the industry, so they are all popular and all meet a need, whether it be the volume of wax they hold, suitability for mobile therapists, analogue or digital, aesthetic, or price point.

The HIVE® no.1 Wax Heater 1000cc has been a huge hit ever since it was launched back in the 90's. Also, the HIVE® Petite Compact Wax Heater 200cc is massively popular with its size being one of its key selling points. Space saving and lightweight makes it suitable for mobile therapists as well as sitting comfortable at every workstation in a salon. The size makes it ideal for smaller treatment associated with intimate, underarm, brow, facial waxing. Such versatility in a small stylish package has seen it become a big hit with brow bars and barbers also.

Are there any additional benefits a HIVE® wax heater can offer salons?
There are a variety of models that can provide additional flexibility and efficiency to a beauty business. The ability to heat two different waxes can make a big difference to time per treatment, productivity and profit, not just for large salons but individual therapist alike.

Many clients will not book in to have one treatment area waxed, it can and often is a variety, for example a full leg wax followed by a brow wax / shape. As always, the needs of the clients would come first in selecting the appropriate wax, followed by therapists own preference and experience, but generally a strip wax would be selected for a full leg wax, with hot wax being very popular for facial waxing. Having both these waxes ready as the client enters the treatment room ensures no delay in having to prepare the next wax once the first treatment is finished.

Likewise, for a busy salon if they have two types of wax that are used constantly, they can have these continually ready to use alternating depending on the client's chosen treatment.

Being able to heat two waxes at once, using individually controlled heating chambers offers a big advantage. HIVE® have three models that were designed to provide this, and which have proven to be extremely popular:

  • HIVE® Dual Digital Wax Heater 1000cc & 500cc
  • HIVE® Dual Analogue Wax Heater 1000cc & 500cc
  • ORITREE® Dual Digital Wax Heater 1000cc & 500cc
Is it important to have specific training in HIVE® products?

All trained therapists can feel confident in the results produced when using the HIVE® range and enjoy trouble free waxing treatments.
