British Beauty Council announces inclusivity theme for 2024 events

The British Beauty Council (BBCo) has launched its British Beauty Week 2024 with the theme ‘A Beauty Industry That Looks Like You'.

Taking place from 23rd to 27th October, this year British Beauty Week aims to highlight the importance of inclusion and representation within the UK beauty sector covering not just salons, spas and mobile therapists but also retailers and manufacturing workers.

Ahead of the event, the Council is launching the Beauty Census, a research project that aims to shift the perception of the industry and lead to change, surveying half a million industry professionals.

Commenting, Millie Kendall, CEO of the BBCo, says:

“We want to hear from everyone from those working in the head office to shop floor assistants, local salons, at-home hairdressers and warehouse workers.

“Beauty really does ‘look like you' and we need to know what you think so we can address the problems, maximise the opportunities and make the industry better for those who work in it and its customers.

"It's time for the industry to unite in confronting its challenges head-on, so we can reveal its true value to all."

This year the BBCo will also focus on driving membership of smaller business and entrepreneurs.
