Salons offered £2500 to improve broadband

Beauty and hair businesses who experience poor or slow internet connections are being urged to claim their voucher for £2,500 towards boosting their broadband before the scheme closes due to high demand.

The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme is run by the UK government, and so far has helped over 7,000 UK businesses and homes to receive full fibre gigabit capable connection. The government aims to have full fibre broadband coverage across the UK by 2033.

Businesses can claim up to £2,500 of Gigabit vouchers against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project, for example by working with other businesses and residents in your salon's locality.

Mike Cherry, National Chairman of the Federation of Small Business, says:

“Access to good broadband is vital for small businesses across the UK, and with the clock ticking on this scheme, it's important small businesses don't delay if they want to apply for funding.”

The scheme is aimed at small to medium sized businesses as well as sole traders. To see if your business qualifies, visit the Gigabit Voucher Scheme website.
